JAL Wedding
Our Wedding
James and Lee wed on Friday, May 13, 2005 in San Rafael, CA at the
Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Marin.  Their marriage incorporated
aspects of the Judeo-Christian tradition, such as reading their vows from a
ketubah, the Jewish marriage document, and of the pagan tradition, such
as a
handfast.  The ceremony was officiated by Lee's father, the Rev. Dr.
Randolph W.B. Becker of the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of
Park Forest, IL, and by Lee's mother, the Rev. G. Katherine Lehman,
formerly of the
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Stony Brook, NY.

Lee and James chose to be semi-modern and sent
e-invites rather than
waste money, stamps, and natural resources on traditional printed
invitations.

The wedding was catered by Rozanna Ogneva, head chef of
Are You Being
Served?.  The menu featured organic, sustainable, and free-range
ingredients.

The wedding ceremony may be found
here.  Vix's speech may be found
here.

James and Lee's friends were instrumental to the ceremony:
Durand Ford,
photographer extraordinare, shot the wedding; Annie Prybelski acted as
day-of coordinator; Paige Loczi styled Lee's
hair; while Pete DeGraff, Andy
Bodo, and Noel Chandler orchestrated the music.

Lee wore a
red 2004 Valentino dress chosen by James; 17th century
French gold and diamond earrings gifted to her mother by Lee's late
step-father Ted Goldfarb; and Charles Jourdan gold shoes.  Female
attendants wore basic black dresses of their own choosing while male
attendants wore black day suits with red ties of their preference.
